4. Component costs
4.1. Development of costs:
4.1.1. General:
After each race the costs of the components (team principal, driver, chassis, engine and tyres) are recalculated according to the obtained total points. The first modification because of the scores is realized after race 3, prior to that the points have no influence on the costs.
4.1.2. Team principal:
The costs only depend on the obtained points. Two team principals cannot have the same price (Exception: If a change of value is limited to 3 M., a value equality of 2 components can occur for one race). The minimum value is 5 M.
4.1.3. Driver 1 and 2:
Step 1:
Applied after race 1. If a driver retires in the real race, the driver will loss 1 M. The minimum value is 5 M. The winning driver will increase its price by 1 M. The value changes of step 1 are preferential. Steps 2-4 only can enforce the value adaptation of step 1. (that means: from +1 to +2, +3, etc. and from 1 to 2, -3 etc.).

The driver with the most points doesn't lose value as long as he is on top of the total points ranking list and doesn't retire. Different driver can have the same price.
The value is decreased by 1 M., if a driver may not take part in the real race because of the 107% rule (unless the costs are higher than the minimum value).

Step 2:
First time applied after race 3. Driver are ranked in descending order according to the total points. The initial values (values prior to race 1) are assigned. (=fictitious value: FVT)
CURVALUE = current value of the driver

Formula: W1 = (FWG-CURVALUE)/(number of remaining races); rounded to 2 decimal places

Step 3:
First time applied after race 3. Driver are ranked in descending order according to the scored points in the last 3 races. The initial values (values prior to race 1) are assigned. (=fictitious value according to the last 3 races: FV3)
CURVALUE = current value of the driver

Formula: W2 = ((FW3-CURVALUE)/(number of remaining races))*0,4; rounded to 2 decimal places limited to 1,00 and +1,00.

Step 4:
W = W1 + W2; rounded to 0 decimal places. W is added up to the current value of the driver.
4.1.4. Driver 3:
The costs only depend on the obtained points. The minimum value of a driver 3 is 1 M., the maximum value is 4 M.
4.1.5. Chassis:
Step 1:
Applied after race 1. If both cars of a racing team retire, the chassis will loss 1 M. The minimum value is 5 M. A finish of a racing team at position 1 and 2 will increase the price of the chassis by 1 M. The value changes of step 1 are preferential. Steps 2-4 only can enforce the value adaptation of step 1. (that means: from +1 to +2, +3, etc. and from 1 to 2, -3 etc.).

The chassis with the most points doesn't lose value as long as it is on top of the total points ranking list and no double retirement occurs. Different chassis can have the same price.
The value of the chassis is decreased by 1 M., if both cars of a racing team may not take part in the real race because of the 107% rule (unless the costs are higher than the minimum value).

Step 2:
First time applied after race 3. Chassis are ranked in descending order according to the total points. The initial values (values prior to race 1) are assigned. (=fictitious value: FVT)
CURVALUE = current value of the chassis

Formula: W1 = (FWG-CURVALUE)/(number of remaining races); rounded to 2 decimal places

Step 3:
First time applied after race 3. Chassis are ranked in descending order according to the scored points in the last 3 races. The initial values (values prior to race 1) are assigned. (=fictitious value according to the last 3 races: FV3)
CURVALUE = current value of the chassis

Formula: W2 = ((FW3-CURVALUE)/(number of remaining races))*0,4; rounded to 2 decimal places limited to 1,00 and +1,00.

Step 4:
W = W1 + W2; rounded to 0 decimal places. W is added up to the current value of the chassis.
4.1.6. Engine:
General:
The engine component can consist of one, two or three real racing teams. The racing teams are re-assigned at the beginning of each season according to the last Years Constructors standings and the entry list.

At least 8 different engine components are available. The minimal value is 5 M. The value of the engine with the highest total score will not decreased as long as it is on top of the points list and no 'double retirement' occurs. The calculation of costs is done in 4 steps according to the chassis component. Factory and customer engines are not divided into 2 groups. A customer engine can be more expensive than a factory engine.

Definition 'Double victory' (enhancement in value +1 M.):
With 1 racing team: Position 1 and 2 in the real race
With 2 racing teams: Position 1 and 2 (driver of the same racing team, no driver of the second racing team retires
With 3 racing teams: Position 1 and 2 (driver of the same racing team, no driver of the second and third racing team retires

Definition 'Double retirement' (decrease in value -1 M.):
With 1 racing team: 2 driver retire in the real race
With 2 racing teams: 3 driver retire (exception: 1 driver wins the race)
With 3 racing teams: 4 driver retire (exception: 1 driver wins the race)

Assignment:
1. Mercedes (Factory engine): Mercedes
2. Honda (Factory engine): Red Bull
3. Renault (Customer engine): McLaren
4. Renault (Factory engine): Renault
5. Ferrari (Factory engine): Ferrari
6. Honda (Customer engine): Alpha Tauri
7. Mercedes (Customer engine): Racing Point, Williams
8. Ferrari (Customer engine): Haas, Alfa Romeo

4.1.7. Tyres:
The price of the tyres only depends on the obtained points. Different tyre suppliers or groups can have the same price. If 2 different tyre suppliers or groups are available, both initial values are at 4 M.
After race 3 the points difference must be greater than or equal to 20 in order that the values are changed to 5 and 3 M. The points difference has to be less than or equal to 5 in order that both values are changed back to 4 M.

Assignment:
P  Prime (Pirelli): Mercedes, McLaren, Alpha Tauri, Alfa Romeo, Williams
O  Option (Pirelli): Ferrari, Red Bull, Renault, Racing Point, Haas

4.2. Resource restriction agreement (RRA):
4.2.1. Initial component values:
Each registered player is able to submit its own component rankings (Team Principal, Driver 1 and 2, Chassis and Engine) in the pre-season. The rankings can be edited as often as wanted until the deadline. The initial component values are the result of the average of all submitted rankings.
4.2.2. Change in value:
The change in value per race is limited to +/-3 M. for each component.
4.2.3. Additional money:
After each race a Fantasy team gets up to 2 M. additional money.

The amount depends on the achieved value enhancement by the regular component cost adjustments:
Value enhancement under 4 M.: +2 M. extra money
Value enhancement equal 4 M.: +1 M. extra money
Value enhancement over 4 M.: no extra money
4.2.4. Budget upper limit:
The value of a Fantasy team is limited to 145 M.

If the total team value exceeds this upper limit, the cash balance becomes negative. In order to clear the cash balance, the team owner has to perform some team component changes. Otherwise the clearing is done automatically by PFRL.net after the database closing time.
4.2.5. Extraordinary cost adjustments:
The extraordinary cost adjustments feature is available to prevent too fast growing team budgets because of the regular component cost adjustments after each race.

Optional extraordinary component cost adjustments after pre-season tests:
If necessary, the prices of Driver 1 and 2, Chassis or Engine components will be adjusted. Negative cash balances are cleared immediately by PFRL.net with automated team component changes. The players have enough time till the 1st race to rebuild their teams.

Obligatory extraordinary component cost adjustments after 3rd race:
This regulation is valid for the components Team Principal, Driver 1 and 2, Chassis and Engine. The extraordinary adjustment is executed after the regular adjustment and can also be done without a change of the component costs. PPRL adjusts the component values which do not correspond to their current performance level. The prices of undervalued components will rise, the value of overrated components will be decreased.

Optional extraordinary component cost adjustments after 7th race:
If necessary, the prices of Driver 1 and 2, Chassis or Engine components will be adjusted extraordinary once more.

Optional extraordinary component cost adjustment, if a driver goes to another racing team during the season:
Once the announcement has been made, the value of this driver will be adjusted (extraordinary) during the next race weekend, if necessary.

In the case of an extraordinary cost adjustment, the component costs are adjusted without the modification of the total team budget values. It is possible that the selected components are too expensive for the available team budget. If a team owner does not change a team after an extraordinary cost adjustment, PFRL is going to perform (if necessary) automated component changes after the database closing time during a race weekend.

After an extraordinary component cost adjustment during the season, 5 free team changes are possible only prior to the following race.
