  2021 is on!
Despite the late finish to the 2020 season, it feels like an age since the last F1 race and I'm glad to see the new season kicking off this weekend!

Welcome back to the many returning veterans (still quite a few big names yet to create teams for the season, so I hope they're just leaving it late!) and the new "generation" of competitors looking to compete at the sharp end. Welcome also to any new joiners for this season and I hope you enjoy your debut seasons!

Maverick, kudos for aiming to cover the full 23 races this season. Your retirement from the competition is kind of the end of an era there and though our racing... philosophies differ in some areas, I'll miss going head to head against you (the 2016 CRL remains a highlight).

To those who are new/not too experienced, a few hints and tips...
- I'd recommend aiming to have 3 or more teams created for the season. This allows you to compete in the Constructors championship and also gives you the opportunities to try different strategies and learn faster.
- Be sure to browse the rules, so you get the basics around things like engine usage, tyres etc and don't get caught out by anything unnecessary.
- Be mindful of when the pit lane closes (the deadline for making changes before a race), as missing that or leaving too little time can really hurt!

Enjoy the season everyone!

3-peat in Cup, nice. Luck has been on my side many times, have to admit... and it sure helps making decisions. Was still biting my nails til the end, hoping nothing will go wrong at Perez' stop, for example.

Phew... goodness, what a nailbiter... I already thought I was out... but my luck in cup decided not to leave me yet.

@rkhalili Awesome performance... I had the budget and ERS advantage and you lured me into not using my ERS by your choice of Hamilton and almost eliminated me with bonus points for correct guesses. Much respect, you would have deserved a place in quarterfinals, too.

@CarlisleFrost I must say I was a bit worried for Bottas (and my prime tyres) when I saw it's going to be a wet race. But he seems to be a good front-runner and did really well today. Sorry you're out, also for all fans who hoped for a clash between us... after all 5 of the last 6 cup trophies went to one of us. You still are in good positions in all other competitions, though.

So much for Bottas being rubbish in the wet. I was left praying for him to crash in the last few laps!

Really poor year in the Cup for me by my standards (I've lost my touch after my dominance a few years back), especially coming into the knockouts with a good budget and ERS.

@GaKra, yeah, I'd say I'm an underdog now in my match. I wish I'd predicted Leclerc 4th like for my CRL team. Ricciardo getting knocked out in Q1 hurt. Bottas needs to have a nightmare to save me!

@CarlisleFrost Since Daijhi used the overtake button, I sure wouldn't wish to switch positions with you, but I wonder if maybe I should have used a bit of ERS to have better chances for advancing. Also it is a bit of a gamble to choose different tyres than my opponent, especially after I was pretty adamant to switch to Option during the last two weeks, until training results seemed to point in another direction. And of course I also have to defend top position in overall, and most players on first page kept Prime tyres... and in the end I decided Prime tyres would also counter rkhalili's quali rank guess for Hamilton. But in case of a Verstappen win, and since I have a 4 points handicap due to my ERS decision, Leclerc and Norris will have to perform well and Russell shouldn't be too far behind Gasly, as otherwise I could be eliminated by a few points which would be a bit embarrassing being in a better position than my opponent.
I wish you a successful race, which is of course easy to say when our teams are almost identical.

@GaKra, no offence to rkhalili, who's a dangerous and accomplished player, but I'd definitely prefer your draw! Higher budget and more ERS for Daijhi, who went full-send with overtake. I had a feeling he'd go big there (even if it meant he'd be in huge trouble in the next round), but had to balance the future, both in terms of ERS (as you were charging) and team set-up (so I could transition to a good one next race).

I'd say my match is probably a coin flip, so I'll be praying Hamilton has some troubles overtaking during the race and that Russell doesn't have a mega race! A bit of rain may also do, as Bottas isn't good in the wet!

@CarlisleFrost It's going to be interesting for sure. You against a well-prepared Daijhi, me against rkhalili with the momentum of being the latest race winner... both of us facing the decision how much of our advantages to use in order to enhance our chances to make it to the next round while not compromising our opportunities for that potential clash too much. Also I think we have similar approaches to the game, so in case we would both make it into the next round, it's going to be a coin toss.

Well, that latest round was an exciting one. So much changed in the last few laps!

Manic here too, especially in the Cup, with shocks aplenty. Only 7 of the 16 seeds got through. Everything went to form in my quarter with all four seeds advancing, then in quarters 2 and 3, it was carnage (Keke, Chris, Nurderbeste, Energie, Xippo, Ferdel, and Rainer-Zufall70 all out) with only roi1975 surviving. Big shock in the fourth quarter too, with AstonMartin knocked out, who had a huge budget and a bunch of ERS (he would've been one of my tips to go far).

GaKra, we're still on track to cross paths, though we both have tricky next rounds to navigate first!
